Another Monday in my life..
I would like to believe that I am off to a great start after managing to cook three sunny-side up eggs without breaking the yolks. The weather is a bit gloomy, likely because of Typhoon Egay but it did not hinder me from enjoying my breakfast of garlic fried rice, hotdogs, and eggs. It is known as hotsilog but I prefer to call it an Americanized Filipino breakfast.
Anyway, while enjoying my first meal of the day, I started wondering about the things one can do to make Monday as awesome and fantastic as ever. In my opinion, here are a few things-
- Say a little prayer. We all need some divine wisdom and guidance so it is always a great idea to give thanks and ask for providence from above.
- Start with a great breakfast. Yeah, intermittent fasting is gaining popularity but you have to admit that you need energy to make it through another grueling week. So go on and enjoy a hearty meal (maybe save your fasting for another day). I believe it is essential to have a great Monday morning.
- Make your weekend sacred. I am in such a good mood today and it is largely because I had a relaxing weekend. So make a conscious effort to avoid any type of stress on your rest days. Devote your Saturday and especially Sunday to relaxation - this will surely increases the chance for a happy Monday.
- Listen to a great song. A lively tune with great lyrics may be all you need to be in a good mood. You may tune in to your favorite radio station. You can do this while engaging in some form of exercise.
- Stimulate your mind. How about devoting a few minutes to playing a game such as an online Scrabble or Chess to wake your mind up. Or read an interesting article. Those brain exercises may lead to some awesome ideas.
- Spread love and kindness. As they say, you get what you give so if you want love, send some too. It can be as easy as sending a warm greeting to your loved one via text or call. You can also post some inspirational message or quote to your social media feed.
- Finish at least one chore. Pick one easy task from your to-do list for the week and do it. This simple activity can empower and encourage you to do the next tasks.
