- Finished this blog post.
- Short bonding time with husband.
- Watered the plants.
- Fed the dogs.
I am a stay at home mother and a freelance worker. More or less, the things above comprised my whole day. Although it is clear that I don't spend my whole day lounging around at home, I cannot help but feel unproductive sometimes. Especially on a day like today when the kids are on a school break so I have less to take care of and I have minimal (sometimes zero) online tasks/projects to finish.
I used to consider my day as an accomplished one based on the number of freelance tasks I finished. Basically, on the amount of money I made in a day. Though it is a good factor to consider, I think it is quite shallow to based my day's worth on that alone.
I think each day that I spend with my loved ones and doing the things I love is already super successful on its own. On second thought, it may even be better to not have any gauge for success at all. To just live a day with gratitude and enthusiasm is already a big feat. To stop living as if every day is a competition, with others and with yourself. With that mindset, every day will be a happy and successful one.
