4 days before Christmas....

Two weeks ago, I saw an interesting art exhibit at the UP Faculty Center. The exhibit features different belens made from unusual materials. It was done by the creative hands and minds of history students. There are belens made from recycled materials such as newspapers, styrofoams, etc. I like one belen that features only a small black box but with a tiny hole that says – peep in. And in that tiny hole, you will see the belen. How ingenious!

But the one that really caught my attention and took my breath away is the belen made out of broken glasses and mirrors. It was beautiful and with a message that says,  “though the world may be broken fragments and our lives in broken pieces, let us have faith and see the light that shone the day he was born. I realized the exhibit was actually a contest and agreed with the judges when I saw that the belen of broken mirrors got the first place.
